Claire is a retired college professor with a lifelong passion for helping students succeed in horticulture. Over her 40-year teaching career in Ohio and California, she has educated thousands of students in subjects such as Plant Identification, Irrigation, Soils, Plant Science, Landscape Design, and Pest and Disease Management.
Renowned for her innovative, hands-on teaching style, Claire also collaborated with the San Diego County Water Authority to develop a Water-Wise Landscaping series. Her dedication to education extends beyond the classroom—she actively contributes to San Diego Ag in the Classroom, serves on the Farm Bureau Scholarship Committee, and previously held roles as treasurer of the San Diego County Women in Agriculture and as a board member of the Irrigation Foundation.
Now retired from teaching, Claire enjoys hiking, traveling, exploring creative arts, and tending to her home garden.
