Diana Bergman is an environmental educator who enjoys sharing her passion for kids’ gardening and local agriculture. Diana joined the SDAITC board in 2009. Ms. Bergman has worked at the regional and state level to promote garden-based education as a means to decrease trends in childhood obesity and “nature deficit disorder”. She has facilitated numerous trainings on the implementation of garden-based nutrition education, farm to school programs, and a return to scratch cooking in schools. In 2008, she helped create Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center in National City, and served as Olivewood’s Program Director from 2012 to 2016. Currently she is a full-time mom and collaborates on the garden program at her son’s school.
