Jennifer Gerson serves as Associate Faculty in the Horticulture Department at Miracosta College where she teaches principles in sustainable agriculture as well as horticulture laws and regulations. Most recently, Jennifer managed plant production and product distribution for Solutions Farms, a large aquaponic farm located in Vista that supports re-entry to the workforce for homeless families. She is passionate about teaching people how to grow their own fruits and vegetables, and especially loves assisting children in understanding where their food comes from! In addition, Jennifer is a Master Gardener with the University of California Cooperative Extension with whom she has managed a Protea Garden located at the Carlsbad Flower Fields for the past five years and teaches people how low-water Mediterranean plants can be a beautiful addition to any landscape.
