The SDAITC Board awarded 10 Garden Grants in March to Elementary and Middle Schools in Carlsbad, Oceanside, Poway, La Jolla, Lakeside, Santee and San Diego. Schools received between $500 and $1200. Funds awarded will be used to repair, enlarge or upgrade existing school gardens with new garden beds, irrigation systems, rodent control structures, tools, fruit trees, plants, seeds, soil, fertilizer, compost and worm bins.
